Psychology & The Church DVD Part 1

This is a great video put out by The Berean Call on what’s wrong with psychology and why it’s incompatible with the Bible. I remember when I first started at Focus on the Family, I was a new Christian and for the first time in my life was reading through the Bible (like most Roman Catholics I never read the Bible). Since I was newly employed by James Dobson, I figured I better read his books too. It was about three months into the ministry when the Lord started to show me that there were deep discrepancies between Dobson’s teachings and the Bible’s teachings.

Of course not everything Dobson teaches is wrong, but his foundation of humanistic psychology comes through just about every resource he has. Ostensibly the Bible is the foundation for Focus on the Family’s doctrines, but in reality much comes from secular psychotherapeutic theories. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not attacking a person; Dr. Dobson as far as I know is a wonderful Christian man. It is his teachings that are in error. He is very sincere, it just happens that he’s sincerely wrong when it comes to the nature of man, self-esteem, etc.

If you question my perspective, I would highly encourage you to watch this enlightening video. I will be posting it in 4 parts about 15 minutes each. May the Lord bless you.

It was interesting in the beginning. Sorry to say that without broadband speed it only went about 1/8th the way through. I tried to find where I could speed it up or at least getting moving forward…the only way, for my experience was to restart it again.
Do you know if I must wait for quite a while during the next buffering area for it to move forward?
